KOUNOIE PROJECT

The "Kounoie" project (Masaharu Tada Atelier + Sano Laboratory, Kinki University) renovated a vacant house in Kamikawa-cho, Kumano, and is using it as a base for activities and research in the Kumano area and as a "Kounoie" to support local activities. In the "Kounoie" project, a "rental book + teahouse" created for "Sakura Ran-kai," a cherry blossom festival held in Kamikawa-cho, Kumano City during the cherry blossom season, will be reconstructed as "Book & Break" at KUMANONISUMU!2022.

A 6mx3.3m horizontal surface is created in one classroom of a wooden school building, which is also the venue for KUMANONISUMU!2022. The horizontal surface is partly raised and partly concave to create an ambiguous and diverse horizontal surface that can be used as a desk, chair, play area, or resting place, allowing users to choose how they use it. The legs supporting the horizontal surface are made of wood flooring scraps from a nearby sawmill. Books, comic books, and playthings will be displayed on these horizontal surfaces. Users of the space are encouraged to spend their time freely while using the books, manga, and playthings displayed on the horizontal surfaces. This space will be completed when it is used.

In this space of a classroom in a wooden school building surrounded by greenery, feel the breeze, experience a relaxing time, and become a part of the composition of this space.

《コウノイエ》プロジェクト（多田正治アトリエ＋近畿大学佐野研究室）は、熊野市神川町の空き家を改修し、熊野地域での活動・調査、地域活動の支援の拠点《コウノイエ》として活用しています。《コウノイエ》プロジェクトでは、熊野市神川町で桜の季節に開催されるさくら祭り「桜覧会」のために作成した「貸本＋茶屋」をKUMANONIS UMU2022で「Book & Break」として再構成します。

KUMANONIS UMU2022の会場でもある木造校舎の1教室の中に6mx3.3mの水平面をつくり、一部を高くしたり、平面を凹ませ、机・椅子・遊び場・休憩場所など、使用者によって使い方を選択できる曖昧で多様な水平面に仕上げています。水平面を支える脚の材料は、近隣の製材所よりで出たフローリングの端材を活用しています。この水平面に本・漫画・遊び道具を展示していきます。この空間の利用者は、水平面に展示された本・漫画・遊び道具を利用しながら、自由な過ごし方をしてください。この空間は利用されることで完成します。

緑に囲まれた木造校舎の教室のこの空間で、風を感じながら、ゆったりとした時間を体験して、この空間を構成する一部となってみませんか。
