I didn't!
I started reading and researching and I am very fascinated by traditional Japanese literature. There is a lot to discover, for example: wakas (5 lines of poetry, 31 syllables) and haikus (3 lines of poetry, 17 syllables). They often refer to the 5 senses: sight, sound, smell, taste and feeling.
Reading those poems gave me a strong impulse on how Japanese culture feels and I also started thinking in these poems when I am in nature or elsewhere. Expressing a feeling or an experience in a short sensual way is what I would like to share with the audience visiting our exhibition!
One month I am going to travel on the pilgrims paths, draw and paint, take pictures, write - maybe even poems, record sounds and even smells. I am also going to meet Japanese people and artists in Kumano. I am going to collect memories for my travel diary.
I have heard that the concept of the "Advent calendar" is unknown in Japan. It is a calendar, usually made out of paper or fabric, that contains 24 little pictures or gifts (depending 2 D or 3 D) that children get on the 1st of December.
They get to open one little window every day.
I would like to apply that concept for my exhibition and share my travel experiences in a kiko advent calendar - you will be able to open a window and experience some of my experiences from Japan!

旅日記文学という日本語があるのをご存知ですか？- 紀行
知らなかったわ。
そこで調べてみたところ日本の伝統的な文学にとても興味を持ちました。例えば、和歌（5句、31音）や俳句（3句、17音）など、発見することがたくさんあります。和歌や俳句は、視覚、聴覚、嗅覚、味覚、触覚の五感を表現していることが多いそうです。
これらの詩を読み、日本の文化がどのように感じられているかについて強く衝動を受け、私も自然の中などでこれらの詩で考えるようになりました。このような感覚や経験を、短い言葉で表現することを、展覧会に来てくださる方々と分かち合いたいと思っています。
一ヶ月の間、巡礼の道を歩き、絵を描き、写真を撮り、詩を書き、音や匂いも記録するつもりです。また、熊野の日本人やアーティストにも出会いたいと思います。そのように、自身の旅日記を書くために、思い出を集めていきます。
日本では「アドベントカレンダー」という概念が知られていないそうですね。アドベントカレンダーとは、通常、紙や布で作られたカレンダーで、12月1日に子供たちが手にする24枚の小さな絵やプレゼント（2Dや3Dなど異なる）が入っています。
毎日、小さな窓を1つずつ開けていくのです。
このコンセプトを私の展覧会に応用し、kiko Advent Calendarで私の旅行体験を共有したいと思います。
