As a European ceramist, what is your idea of staying and working in a Japanese ceramics studio? Surely a romantic one. Then you arrive and the workplace exceeds your expectations.

Inspiration everywhere. Nature all around. In the morning I walk the distance from the house to the workshop along the sea, rarely and briefly a snack break in the hammock. At 37 degrees celsius and 70% humidity I literally work my way into the material.

あらゆるところにインスピレーションを 周りは自然ばかり。気温37度、湿度...パーセントの環境下で、私は文字通り、素材の中に入り込んでいく。まれにハンモックでおやつ休憩。朝は家から工房までの距離を海沿いに歩き、夕方には公子さんに迎えに来てもらう。
